Highworth progressed to the 2 round qualifying of the Emirates FA Cup with this win at the SaveOnTyres Stadium.
Highworth started brightly and went ahead on 6 mins when a long crossfield ball from Sean Wood allowed Edgey Mbunga to beat the defender on the outside and cross for Sol Pryce to slot home.
Connor Johns in the home goal kept the lead intact with a fine block with his feet on 13 mins as the visitors pushed on.
There were happy faces amongst the home support when after receiving a pass from Ralph Graham Mbunga again cut in from the right and found Steve Robertson who doubled the lead on 28 mins from 8 yards.
Johns clawed a looping header out of the top corner on 35 mins and half time was reached at 2-0.
The visitors went on the attack at the start of the second half and the home gaol led a bit of a charmed life. Things got worrying for Highworth when on 55 mins Jacob Davidge was shown red for what the referee deemed a dangerous tackle.
Exmouth got a goal back on 61 mins as Jordan Harris prodded home a right wing cross.
Chances came and went for the visitors with a magnificent tip onto the bar from Johns keeping the Worthians ahead.
Mbunga then weaved his magic down the left and set up substitute Ash Edenborough to superbly extend the lead on 84 mins.
Exmouth's Harris was then dismissed for a foul onGraham before Mbunga created his fourth goal of the afternoon setting up Edenborough again.
Exmouth made it 4-2 in the 5th added minutes with a long range effort from Aaron Denny but Highworth saw the game out.
A happy manager, happy players and a happy Chairman with a few quid in the bank.
