Highworth Town 1-1 Moneyfields
Highworth extended their unbeaten run to four games in this home draw against second placed Moneyfields.
On a blustery day when the strong wind inevitably had an effect on the game Highworth, with the wind at their backs, started impressively.
Ryan Morgan rattled the visitors' cross bar on 9 minutes with Moneyfields keeper Steve Mowthorpe then brilliantly keeping out Leon Morrison's header and Toumani Sidibi's low shot.
The pressure told however on 12 minutes when Chris Taylor curled one into the top corner from 18 yards out. Highworth held the upper hand for the remainder of the first half although home keeper Connor Johns did have to tip a long range effort over the bar on the half hour mark.
Moneyfield's equalised after 48 minutes when a right wing corner held up in the wind resulting in a goalmouth scramble from which Steve Hutchings forced the ball home. With no improvement in the conditions Highworth did well to not allow Moneyfields any clear cut chances as they pressed forward. In fact it was the home side who came closest to scoring again as Mowthorpe did well again to save two Chris Taylor swerving efforts from distance and a first time attempt from Ash Edenborough.
All in all a fair result although Manager Roberts may be a shade disappointed that his side only found the net once.
