Highworth Town 3-0 Tuffley Rovers
After a strong start from the Rovers, the game settled down down and was quite evenly matched, although the Worthians looked somewhat sharper in front of goal. Honours remained even until the 34th minute when a pinpoint corner ball from Nick Stanley, found the unmarked Ross Adams at the far post and the Worthian captain headed home for the opener. The Rovers had a few chances to score but so too did the Worthians and so the entertaining spectacle drew to a close for the half-time break.
The second half saw the Rovers tire somewhat from their exersions in the first period and slowly but surely, the Worthians began to dominate the play. Just on the hour mark, Nick Stanley dropped another excellent corner ball to the far post, but Tom Cole could only head the ball against the post. Fortunately, the ever-vigilant Callum Parsons quickly latched onto the loose ball to finish from two yards out.
The Worthians were now flying and a great run and individual effort from Ryan O'Hara saw the Worthians go three up to virtually seal the result.
The Rovers did have a number of opportunities to get onto the scoresheet but they were thwarted by good goalkeeping from Garry Aulsberry, sound defending and shots which were off target. So the Worthians have now won seven of seven league games, a feat not achieved since the 1999-2000 season.
