Worthians Earn FA Cup Replay at Windsor
A magnificent headed goal from Ash Edenborough in the 4th minute of added time earned Highworth an Emirates FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round replay at the Save on Tyres Stadium on Wednesday evening, with a 7.45 kick off.
On a magnificent surface, the first half was an even affair with few chances. The visitors took the lead on 22 minutes when Sean Wood played in Jason Milhench who curled a shot into the keeper's top left hand corner from the left hand side of the penalty box.
The lead lasted only 6 minutes as the hosts scored a similar goal, Jeevan Panasar curling one into the top right hand corner of Connor John's goal this time from the right hand side of the penalty area.
Highworth started the second half on the front foot and were the potent attacking force but without creating any clear cut chances. They were however back in front on 58 minutes when Ash Edenborough converted a penalty, awarded after Jordan Roberts was bundled over in the box.
Things seemed to get even better for the visitors when Windsor's George Gould was sent off after an off-the-ball incident spotted by one of the assistant referees.
However, the game then turned as the 10 men of Windsor scored in the 71st and 81st minutes. Poor defending from a cross into the box allowed Dan Roberts to equalise from close range before then striking home from 20 yards to put the hosts in front.
Highworth then pushed forward with Wayne Turk narrowly heading wide from a corner before a similar effort by the same player was dramatically headed of the line.
Then with the final whistle seconds away came a great cross from the right by Aaron Nesbeth which Ash Edenborough powered home with a tremendous header from 8 yards out.
