A loss at home to in form Flackwell Heath and another win for Thatcham Town means the race for the Hellenic Premier League title took another twist today. Highworth now lead the table by 2 points with Thatcham Town having a game in hand although they have to visit the Elms in what may yet be a crucial fixture on the 28th March.
Highworth conceded early today when keeper Josh Langley let a speculative shot from Charlie Samuel slip through his hands on 6 minutes.
The home side got back into the game and David Lyons made a couple of crucial saves to prevent an equaliser before controversy in the 37th minute.
Sheridan Campbell appeared to the majority of the audience of 89 to be at least a couple of yards offside before slotting home and despite the referee consulting his assistant at length the goal was allowed to stand.
