The Rodney & Maureen Haines Memorial Challenge Trophy 2018

6 months ago By Mike Markham

Tenth Year for the Under 9 Tournament!

I am for the 10th year planning on running my parents memorial cup tournament on Saturday 14th April 2018. The tournament will be a competitive tournament which will consist of 7 playing + 2 roll on-roll off substitutes. The tournament will be COMPETITIVE with the winners and runners up receiving trophies along with

The Rodney & Maureen Haines Memorial Cup

which they will hold for 1 year. Last year we received 24 entries, which is a maximum, from Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire.
When my brother (Rohan) and myself lost our father nearly 10 years ago we decided to organise a tournament at the Under 9s age group in their memory.
The reason why we decided on the Under 9s age group is because that was the age of my father’s youngest Grandson when he passed away.
My Mother & Father were connected with Highworth Town F C for over 55 years until their passing.
All Profit from the tournament will be donated to HIGHWORTH CHARITIES. Over the last 9 years we have raised in the region of £5000 which has been donated to various charities.
We run the tournament on the Senior Pitch where Highworth Town play their Hellenic League fixture schedule. The tournament will be 7 playing + 2 substitutes on Saturday 14th April 2018 starting at 2-00pm.
Please note this is NOT our Summer Tournament that we are organising over the weekend of 8th, 9th, 10th June 2018.

Yours in Sport
