Playing their 3rd game in 4 days the Worthians moved into the Supplementary Cup semi final
with a comfortable win over Holyport at the Elms last night.
After a fairly even start, albeit without and clear cut chances for either side, Highworth started to take control of the game when Nick Stanley hit an upright from distance in the 24th minute.
5 mins later the first goal arrived as Ash Edenmborough coolly round keeper Jake Quelch before slotting home.
2 minutes later the lead was doubled when Connor Waldon struck from fully 30 yards with a strike that the keeper may have initially thought was going wide.

Highworth completed dominated the 2nd half and a only a fine display from Jake Quelch in the Holyport goal, with excellent stops from Waldon, Drewett and Edenborough, kept Highworth out until 88th minutes when Dan Drewett struck from 12 yards.

Highworth will travel to either Oxford City Nomads OR Burnham FC in the semi final, date tbc
Next up, on Monday at 7.45, a visit from Thatcham Town in the league, in a game that could well decide the destination of the league title and indeed simplify the permutations for the second promotion spot.
