This floodlit Cup was finally resolved at the 3rd time of asking last night as RWBT took the honours in a decent game in front of 76 spectators.
Highworth Manager Jeff Roberts selected a team mainly made up of those without much recent game time and young reserve players.
In the first half some of the Highworth youngsters seemed somewhat overawed by the occasion and the visitors thoroughly deserved their 2-0 half time lead with goals from Ben Lodge (6) and Kai Robinson (26). Indeed had home keeper Garry Aulsberry not been at his best the game could have been out of sight at the break.
The second half was a different affair. The home side improved markedly and created several chances wi.th Dan Drewett hitting the post shortly after coming on in the 64th minute after being set up by skipper Tom Cole. Jordan Clark did reduce the arrears in the 70th minute with a neat finish and the home side looked the likeliest to score again but Dan Lawrence in the RWBT Town brilliantly tipped over a close range header to keep his team ahead.
The visitors had a chance to make the game safe with another close range header but Garry Aulsberry matched his opposite number with a great tip over.
